This year’s Districtwide Science Fair was held at the Jesse C. White Learning Academy on Tuesday, January 26th. Each school held a building Science Fair and selected two students from each grade level for 4th thru 8th grade. Those students selected went on to compete at the district level. Of the twenty students competing at the district level, the top three were awarded with trophies. All students participating at the district level received a certificate and award medal for their accomplishment. The winners are:
1st Place - Tonni Galvin (5th Grade-BOLA) “Keep Up Your Act!”
2nd Place - Shayla Turner (8th Grade-JWLA) “Which Antacid Neutralizes the Fastest”
3rd Place - Tonni Jones (5th Grade-BOLA) “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t”
Several 6th thru 8th grade students went on to compete at Regionals on February 6th held at Thornwood High School. Lania Hollins (BOLA) took 1st place with “Evaporation Station” for 6th grade.
