Dear Families of Barack H. Obama Learning Academy,

On behalf of the staff at Barack Obama Learning Academy, I am excited to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year!  To help our year get off to a great start, we are hosting our Back To School Bash on August 18th from 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Located at the District Office. Please join us for food, music and fun.

The Barack Obama staff and I are looking forward to continuing a productive partnership with our families to ensure our children achieve their highest potential.  We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school.  

We know a strong partnership will make a great difference in your child’s education.  As partners we share the responsibilities for our children and want you to know we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

• Attends school daily and arrives on time ready to learn

• Completes homework assignments

• Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills

• Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life

• Helps to make Barack Obama a wonderful and safe school by following the rules

• Dress in District 152 ½ required uniform each day

Our Curriculum Night is Thursday, September 14th from 6:00p.m. - 7:30p.m. Please attend to hear a message from your principal, formally meet your child’s teacher and learn more about the exciting opportunities we have planned throughout the school year!  

The first day of school is Monday, August 21st. Breakfast starts at 7:20a.m. Regular arrival starts at 7:50a.m. Please ensure that students arrive at school on time promptly no later than 7:50a.m. daily.  

The staff and I eagerly wait to welcome you to another awesome school year and look forward to seeing families and students very soon!
