IHSA CPR VIDEO TRAINING

State law requires the Illinois High School Association to post a hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillators training video on its website. The law also requires the District to notify staff members and parents/guardians about the video.

HB1225 Enrolled LRB098 02930 NHT 32944 b; AN ACT concerning education. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly: Section 5. The Interscholastic Athletic Organization Act is amended by adding Section 1.10 as follows: (105 ILCS 25/1.10 new)
Sec. 1.10. CPR training video.
(a) The Illinois High School Association shall post a training video on hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillators on the association's Internet website, but only if it is provided to the association free of charge and is no more than 15 minutes in length. (b) School districts shall notify parents and staff in newsletters, bulletins, calendars, or other correspondence currently published by the school district of the video posted under subsection (a) of this Section and encourage parents and staff to view it.
